Dr. Margaret Smith, DVM, DAVDC

Dr. Margaret Smith is a veterinary dental specialist at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital. She’s passionate about relieving oral pain in all animals and has a special interest in maxillofacial trauma, oral tumors and porcine dentistry. Dr. Smith is a board-certified dental specialist. She completed her undergraduate degree in biology at Indiana State University and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University. She went on to complete her small animal internship in Denver, CO at VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital and her Dentistry and Oral Surgery residency training at Colorado State University. In her free time, Dr. Smith enjoys hiking, cooking, baking, knitting, biking and roller skating. She has two cats, Glen Coco and Sudo, and a two-legged Chihuahua named Furiosa.‍

Dr. Margie Smith, an Indiana native, is passionate about alleviating oral pain in veterinary patients. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Following her graduation, Dr. Smith completed a small animal rotating internship in Denver, Colorado, and subsequently pursued a three-year residency in Dentistry and Oral Surgery at Colorado State University.

Dr. Smith's primary areas of interest include maxillofacial trauma and oral tumors, with a particular focus on porcine dentistry. Her expertise in these fields reflects her commitment to advancing veterinary dental care.

Currently residing in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Smith shares her home with her husband and daughter. Their family also includes a diverse array of pets: two cats, a two-legged chihuahua, and a Sulcata tortoise.
