Dr. Justine Ma, a Southern California native, earned her Bachelor of Science in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology with minors in Animal Science and Leadership from the University of California, Davis. She continued her education at UC Davis, earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. After graduation, Dr. Ma moved to the Bay Area and worked as an associate veterinarian at a general practice in Daly City for three years and eventually as chief of staff in Mountain View for another three years. Growing up with aspects of traditional Chinese medicine in her own life, Dr. Ma has always been fascinated by applying these principles to animals, motivating her to get certified in veterinary acupuncture at Chi University in 2020. Wanting to practice more Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), she moved back to Southern California and joined California Animal Rehabilitation (CARE) in 2021. Working at CARE allowed her to practice acupuncture and opened her eyes to the world of rehabilitation. She saw the value of rehabilitation and was so energized by the many success stories that she eventually became certified in Canine Rehabilitation at Chi University in 2024. Dr. Ma enjoys learning and expanding her knowledge of TCVM and rehabilitation while helping her patients and teaching her colleagues. In her free time, Dr. Ma enjoys staying active, including weightlifting, martial arts, dancing, and crafting. She is a lifelong learner, listening to podcasts and reading both fiction (especially romantasy) and self-help books to optimize her health and life. She and her husband enjoy traveling locally and abroad, trying new activities and experiences, and eating delicious plant-based food!
